Super exciting experimental and deconstructed tunes on this release. This release balances really nice between the a more etheral/astral sound and some gnarly noise elements. Everything I love about deconstructed club in one go.

"Klahrk & KAVARI explore club music at its most tense and unnerving on this harsh but fascinating LP." (Bandcamp Daily)
"It’s an unnerving world where familiar club sounds are smudged out of shape, each track a surrealist sculpture as much as a cyber-jungle rhythm." (the Quietus)
"Wax is precise in its sound design, fluid in structure and confidently able to add a fresh sound to UK Bass and dance music in general." (Ma3azef)
"Meticulously crafted while sustaining knife-edge atmospheric tension throughout, crystalline sound design succumbs to the overdriven maelstrom time and again." (If-Only)
On WAX (GEN049), KLAHRK & KAVARI pair up to present a basket of hammering, blasting club tracks with a focus on radical digital sound manipulations. The duo presents a sound design show-off consisting of raspy stretch algorithm artifacts, vocoded pulses and slimy granular flurries. Rhythmically, high impact overdriven kicks and syncopated motifs give the tracks a high energy urgency and momentum. Simmering, crusty chopped up break beats accompany stroboscopic pads, glistening metallic percussion and sweeping electro-acoustic gestures. Maneuvering naturally between almost snapping, bursting, fragmenting passages, effervescent glistening chords sometimes emerge, ready to get whacked by mangled, contorted drum machine outbursts.

/ Klahrk about the album
“This project with KAVARI has been in the works for many years and I am so happy that it is finally being released. I have known her for almost 5 years now, and we have been making music on and off together throughout this time, resulting in this project. We finally met in person last year, which was really special and I cannot wait to share this music we have made together, especially via Genot Centre.”

This is synth minimalism of the “Warm Leatherette” variety, with plinking analog electronics and wry, disaffected vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable May 20, 2019
